Music @ Rugcutterz Terms & Conditions

Student Participation

Music @ Rugcutterz is committed to providing a positive, welcoming and respectful learning environment.

Students are expected to treat instructors, staff, other students, the facility and equipment respectfully.

Music @ Rugcutterz reserves the right to address behaviour that interferes with a safe or productive learning environment and, where necessary, may discontinue a student's participation.

Parent/Guardian Responsibility

For students under 18, the parent or legal guardian completing registration is responsible for:

  • providing accurate registration and emergency information;
  • keeping contact information current;
  • ensuring the student is dropped off and picked up appropriately;
  • advising Music @ Rugcutterz of relevant accessibility, allergy or safety information; and
  • payment of all applicable tuition and fees.

Arrival & Pick-Up

Students should arrive a few minutes before their scheduled lesson and be ready to begin on time.

Lessons will normally end at the scheduled time even when a student arrives late, as instructors may have another student immediately afterward.

Parents/guardians remain responsible for appropriate supervision before and after their child's scheduled lesson.

Instructor Assignment

Music @ Rugcutterz will make every effort to match students with an instructor suited to their interests, goals, personality and availability.

Specific instructors are not guaranteed.

From time to time, instructor schedules may change. If an instructor becomes unavailable, Music @ Rugcutterz may offer another qualified instructor or alternative lesson time.

Instruments & Personal Property

Students may be asked to bring appropriate instruments, books or materials to lessons.

Music @ Rugcutterz is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal belongings brought to the studio, except where required by applicable law.

Students must use studio instruments and equipment appropriately and follow instructor directions.

Royal Conservatory Studies

Royal Conservatory of Music preparation is available for appropriate instruments and students where a qualified instructor is available.

Participation in RCM examinations is optional.

RCM registration, examinations, books, accompanists and other related costs are separate from regular Music @ Rugcutterz tuition unless specifically stated otherwise.

Songwriting & Original Work

Students participating in songwriting or music creation may create original lyrics, melodies, compositions or recordings during lessons.

Original creative work created by a student remains the student's work.

Photos, Video & Recordings

Permission to photograph or record a student for Music @ Rugcutterz promotional purposes will be requested separately during registration.

Declining promotional photo/video permission will not affect a student's ability to participate in regular lessons.

Program & Schedule Changes

Music @ Rugcutterz may make reasonable changes to instructors, schedules, programming, teaching calendars or studio operations where required.

Families will be given reasonable notice of material changes whenever possible.

Safety

Parents/guardians are responsible for informing Music @ Rugcutterz of information reasonably necessary for the safe participation of their child.

In the event of an emergency, Music @ Rugcutterz staff may contact the emergency contact provided and seek appropriate emergency assistance.

Assumption of Ordinary Risk

Participation in music lessons and related activities may involve ordinary risks associated with instruments, equipment, movement and performance activities.

Students are expected to follow instructor and staff directions and use equipment appropriately.

Withdrawal

Withdrawal from ongoing weekly lessons requires 30 days' written notice.

The student's reserved weekly lesson time will be released at the end of the applicable notice period.

Policy Updates

Music @ Rugcutterz may update its policies from time to time as the program evolves. Families will be notified of material changes affecting their enrollment.
